Luckily, my girlfriend Stephanie works for animal rights org Mercy For Animals in the film department and gets to travel on assignment to document vegan restaurants and events. Feeling spontaneous, I decided to join her on this trip because I hadn’t been to NYC since I was a teenager. Long before I was vegan and an adult. My dad used to live there and I would visit at least once a year. Unfortunately, he was there when 9/11 happened living and working just blocks away but fortunately survived the horrific event. The city felt different after that day and it sure felt a lot different visiting again some 19 years later. As a teen the city felt a little intimidating...

Travel: Portland Vegan Beer Fest

  There is a time to laugh... and a time to weep. A time to mourn... and there is a time to eat vegan junk food and drink vegan beer in abundance with a bunch of vegan people. And that time was Portland Vegan Beer & Food Festival. It was a beautiful crisp fall day in what felt like a real deal episode of Portlandia and I was ok with that. We kicked things off with a stroll to A.N.D. cafe to prep our bellies with mouthwatering waffles then it was onto VooDoo Doughnuts. What? I said donuts. Sheesh. Travel: Maui

Traveling as a vegan is getting easier these days. I recently went to Maui on vacation and documented some spots along the way that had some crazy delicious cruelty-free faire. What also won me over was all of the Anti-GMO and Anti-Monsanto propaganda found all over the Island.
